Savory Crescent Chicken Squares
- 3 oz. cream cheese
- 3 Tbsp. melted butter
- 2 c. cooked, cubed chicken breast meat or 2 (5 oz.) cans boned chicken
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 Tbsp. dried chives or minced onion
- 1 Tbsp. chopped pimento (optional)
- 8 oz. can crescent dinner rolls
- 3/4 c. seasoned croutons, crushed
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- In a medium bowl, blend cream cheese and 2 tablespoons melted butter (reserve 1 tablespoon butter) until smooth.
- Add next 6 ingredients.
- Mix well.
- Separate dough into 4 rectangles; press firmly to seal perforations.
- Spoon 1/2 meat mixture into each rectangle.
- Pull 4 corners of dough to top center of chicken mixture.
- Twist slightly to seal edges.
- Brush top with reserved margarine and dip into crushed crouton crumbs. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden.
- These make great appetizers.
