Beef Chop Suey
- 1 1/2 lbs beef, diced
- 1/4 cup oil
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 cups celery, cut in 1 inch pieces
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 1 1/2 tablespoons molasses
- 3 cups beef bouillon
- 2 cups canned bean sprouts
- 4 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 teaspoons salt
- fresh ground black pepper
- 6 cups hot boiled rice
- Fry beef in oil over high heat for three minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in soy sauce, salt and pepper. Remove meat and keep hot. To oil remaining in sauce pan, add celery, onion, molasses and bouillon. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Add bean sprouts and cook for 3 minutes. Replace beef. Mix cornstarch and 1/4 cup water, and add. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Serve with rice.
