Spaghetti Sauce With Meat
- 5 lb. lean ground beef
- 30 oz. tomato sauce
- 12 oz. tomato paste
- 8 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Italian herbs
- 1 Tbsp. black pepper
- 1 Tbsp. white pepper
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. red pepper, crushed
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 large onions, chopped
- 4 large bell peppers, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. dry red wine
- 8 oz. chopped mushrooms
- Brown meat lightly in olive or vegetable oil.
- Saute onions and bell peppers until somewhat translucent.
- Combine meat, onions, peppers and other ingredients, reserving wine and mushrooms until last.
- Cook slowly several hours, adjusting seasonings to taste.
- Yields 30 cups.
