Herbed Beer Bread
- 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup semolina
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 (12 ounce) bottle beer
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup hulled sunflower seeds
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0; grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
- In a big bowl, mix together the flours, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Add in the beer and oil; stir until batter is evenly moistened.
- Stir in sunflower seeds and herbs; pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for 45 minutes, until a pick comes out clean.
- Remove pan from oven and cool for 15 minutes on a rack; run a dull knife around the edge of the bread and turn it out of the pan to finish cooking.
