Out Of The World Pie

• 3/4 c. sugar
• 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
• 1 (20 oz.) can pineapple tidbits
• 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
• 1 tsp. red food color
• 1 (3 oz.) box strawberry jello
• 4 bananas, peeled and sliced
• 1 (10-inch) deep dish pie shell, baked and cooled
• 3 c. nondairy whipped topping
• 1 c. finely chopped nuts (for garnish)

1. Measure sugar and cornstarch into saucepan; mix well.
2. Add pineapple with its juice; mix well so no lumps form.
3. Stir in pie filling and food color.
4. Use a wooden spoon and stir gently to avoid mashing the cherries.
5. Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil and thickens, about 5 to 8 minutes.
6. Remove from heat, stir in dry jello.
7. Let cool.
8. When completely cooled, stir in sliced bananas.
9. Spoon into pie shell.
10. Cover with whipped topping, garnish with nuts.
11. Refrigerate.
