Ribbon Salad

  1. Lightly oil a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
  2. Prepare lemon gelatin according to package directions.
  3. Pour into pan; chill until firm. Soften unflavored gelatin in cold water.
  4. Bring fruit cocktail syrup to a boil.
  5. Remove from heat and dissolve unflavored gelatin in hot syrup.
  6. Stir into cottage cheese.
  7. Add fruit cocktail; spread evenly over lemon gelatin.
  8. Chill until firm.
  9. Prepare cherry gelatin according to package directions.
  10. Chill until mixture mounds when dropped from a spoon.
  11. Pour over cheese layer. Chill until firm.
  12. Unmold on lettuce.
  13. Slice and serve with crackers.
  14. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
