Down Home Hot Dog Chili
- 3 lb. ground chuck
- 6 onions
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 c. barbecue sauce
- 2 large cans tomato paste
- 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1 tsp. celery salt
- 2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 c. brown sugar
- salt to taste
- 1 large can tomato juice
- 1 Tbsp. pepper
- Brown and drain chuck meat and onions, chopping with spatula while browning so the beef will be fine.
- Add garlic clove, then add in this order:
- tomato paste, tomato juice, barbecue sauce, sugar, mustard, garlic powder, parsley flakes, celery salt, pepper and chili powder.
- Simmer 6 to 8 hours in slow cooker.
- Yields approximately 4 quarts.
