Best-In-The-World Cookies
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. grated orange peel
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp. quick-cooking oats
- 2 Tbsp. orange juice
- 2 c. cornflakes
- 2 c. crispy rice cereal
- 1 1/2 c. white raisins
- Combine flour, soda, baking powder, salt, orange peel and cinnamon.
- Mix well and set aside.
- Cream together shortening and sugars.
- Beat in eggs, then vanilla and orange juice.
- Add flour mixture, blending well.
- Stir in oats, cornflakes, rice cereal and raisins.
- Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 325u0b0 for 12 to 14 minutes.
- Cookies will flatten when removed from oven.
- Cool slightly on cookie sheet.
- Remove to rack to cool completely.
- Makes 4 to 5 dozen.
