Dutch-Style Beef And Cabbage(Crock-Pot)
- 1 1/2 lb. beef round steak, cut 3/4-inch thick
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 2 large onions, sliced (2 c.)
- 3/4 c. hot water
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 2 tsp. beef bouillon granules
- 1 small head cabbage
- Trim fat off beef and cut into cubes.
- Combine flour, salt and pepper; coat meat with mixture.
- In skillet, quickly brown meat on all sides in hot oil.
- Drain off fat.
- Transfer to crock-pot.
- Add onions to skillet.
- In same skillet, combine water, vinegar and bouillon granules.
- Stir together, scraping browned bits from skillet.
- Pour into crock-pot.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Serve beef over cooked cabbage.
- Makes 4 to 5 servings.
