Chili

  1. In large heavy
  2. skillet, over medium heat, saute ground beef, stirring occasionally, until red color disappears.
  3. Pour off fat. Add onion, green pepper, garlic, crushed red pepper, chili powder,
  4. cumin,
  5. oregano
  6. and
  7. salt;
  8. mix
  9. well.
  10. Cook, stirring, until onion and green pepper are tender.
  11. Add beans, tomatoes, corn and tomato sauce; stir to mix well, breaking up tomatoes with
  12. fork.
  13. Simmer
  14. slowly,
  15. covered
  16. and
  17. stirring occasionally, until
  18. thickened
  19. and flavors are blended, about 45 minutes.
