Exa'S Roll Recipe
- 1/2 c Potato Water
- 1/2 c Sweet milk scalded
- 1/2 c shortening melted
- 1 pkg yeast dissolved in warm water
- 1 egg beaten
- 1/4 c sugar
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 3 c Self rising flour
- Mix potato water, sweet milk and shortening; let cool until lukewarm.
- Add egg, sugar, salt and dissolved yeast, mix well. Add about two cups of flour, beat well until it is the consistency of pan cake mixture.
- Cover and keep in a warm place one hour. Add enough flour to kneed into biscuit dough texture.
- Let rise until double in bulk about one hour.
- If ready to use, pinch off desired amount, roll out, cut with biscuit cutter, dip in melted butter and place close together in baking dish with sides.
- Let rise again and bake.
- Punch down unused mixture and place in refrigerator.
- Mixture will last about two weeks in refrigerator.
