Red Devil'S Food Cake

  1. Cream shortening and sugar, add egg yolks, add milk alternatly with flour, salt, baking powder (sifted together).
  2. Melt chocolate in double boiler, add baking soda, boiling water (mixture will fizzle up).
  3. Let settle and cool slightly.
  4. Mix with cake batter. In small bowl beat the egg white until stiff.
  5. Fold egg whites into batter.
  6. Pour cake into 9-inch cake pans or 13 x 9-inch loaf pan. greased and floured pan).
  7. Bake in 350u0b0 oven about 35 minutes.
