Tail-Gate Blond Brownies
- 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/8 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- Sift together baking powder, soda and salt.
- Melt butter in small saucepan.
- Stir in brown sugar; pour into large bowl and cool.
- Stir in egg and vanilla.
- Beat in dry ingredients.
- Stir in walnuts and half of the chocolate pieces.
- Spread into a greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
- Sprinkle batter with remaining chocolate, pressing slightly.
- Bake in 350u0b0 oven for 20 minutes or until mixture starts to pull away from edges.
- Cool in pan and cut.
