Firehouse Chili

  1. In large pot brown ground beef.
  2. In small frying pan, cook onions and bacon until onions are transparent.
  3. Combine with ground beef.
  4. Add remaining ingredients, being sure to add tomato juice last.
  5. Cover and simmer on low for 1 1/2 hours.
  6. Stir frequently.
  7. Serve topped with grated Cheddar and chopped onion. Serve with crackers or cornbread.
