Hamburger Soup
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 2 c. diced celery
- 1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
- 1 Tbsp. catsup
- 6 c. water
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. instant rice
- 2 c. diced carrots
- 3 medium diced onions
- 1 (16 oz.) can diced tomatoes
- 1 can beef stock
- 1/2 head cabbage (small)
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- dash of salt and pepper
- dash of lemon juice
- Slightly brown ground beef, then simmer 45 minutes.
- Add the rest of the ingredients except for the cabbage after cooking the other ingredients for about 15 minutes.
- Add the cabbage.
- After all the ingredients are added, simmer for an additional hour.
- Add instant rice about 4 minutes at the end of the cooking.
- Cook until rice is tender.
- Serve hot.
