Green Beans With Cherry Tomatoes

  1. Wash beans; trim ends and remove strings.
  2. Cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces.
  3. Combine beans and water in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes.
  4. Drain.
  5. Melt butter in a skillet.
  6. Stir in sugar, garlic salt, salt, pepper and basil.
  7. Add tomatoes; stir gently, cooking just until soft.
  8. Pour tomatoes and sauce over beans; toss gently.
  9. Transfer vegetable mixture to serving bowl; garnish with fresh basil.
  10. Yields 6 servings.
