Ham Wraparounds

  1. Cook fresh asparagus in 1-quart casserole dish in boiling salted water until tender, 9 to 10 minutes.
  2. (Canned asparagus may be used.)
  3. Melt butter in 1-quart casserole; stir in flour.
  4. Add milk; cook until thick.
  5. Stir every 30 seconds.
  6. Beat egg yolks and stir into flour and milk mixture.
  7. Add seasoning.
  8. Wrap 3 stalks of asparagus in each slice of ham.
  9. Lay bundles in glass utility dish and cover with sauce.
  10. Sprinkle with cheese.
  11. Cover and cook with microwave for 4 1/2 minutes.
  12. Serve on toast. Recipe yields 4 servings.
