Julekake(Christmas Bread)

  1. Dissolve
  2. yeast in water.
  3. Mix milk and butter in bowl. When lukewarm,
  4. add
  5. egg,
  6. yeast,
  7. sugar,
  8. salt, cardamon and fruit. Add 2
  9. cups flour and mix well.
  10. Gradually add remaining flour, saving
  11. some
  12. for kneading.
  13. Knead on floured board until smooth. Place
  14. in greased bowl.
  15. Cover;
  16. let rise until double in bulk. Punch
  17. down
  18. and divide in half.
  19. Form into 2 round loaves and place
  20. on greased pan. Cover; let rise until double.
  21. Bake at 350u0b0 for 40 minutes.
  22. Ice with powdered sugar while warm.
