Coffee-Time Twists

  1. Soften yeast in warm water.
  2. Heat cream to lukewarm; combine with sugar, shortening, salt and soda.
  3. Add 1 cup flour.
  4. Beat. Add yeast and eggs.
  5. Beat well.
  6. Stir in rest of flour.
  7. Turn out on floured board.
  8. Knead until smooth.
  9. Roll into 24 x 6-inch rectangle, 1/4-inch thick.
  10. Fold over lengthwise half of dough. After combining brown sugar and cinnamon, butter dough; spread sugar mix on half.
  11. Cut into 1-inch strips.
  12. To form rolls, hold strips at both ends and twist in opposite directions.
  13. Place on greased pan; set in warm place to rise.
  14. Bake at 350u0b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
  15. While warm, ice with powdered sugar icing.
