Wild Grits

  1. Add grits to boiling salted water.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool 30 minutes.
  3. Add baking powder, 3/4 cup cheese, onion and pepper.
  4. Mix well. Combine eggs and milk.
  5. Add to cooked grits.
  6. Pour mixture into well-greased 2-quart baking dish. Top with bread crumbs and remaining cheese. Dot with butter.
  7. Bake at 350u0b0 for 25 minutes or until browned on top.
  8. Great with chicken or meat dishes.
