Danish Puff
- 1 c. flour
- 1/2 c. butter or oleo
- 3 Tbsp. water
- another 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 1 c. flour
- 3 eggs
- Cut 1 cup flour and 1/2 cup butter together as for pie crust. Stir in 3 tablespoons water with a fork to form a soft dough. Divide dough in half and form into 2 oblongs about 4 inches wide and as long as a cookie sheet.
- Use fingers to pat dough into shape.
- Melt 1/2 cup butter in 1 cup boiling water.
- Remove from heat and immediately add almond flavoring and 1 cup flour all at once.
- Stir until dough leaves sides of kettle.
- Put in small mixing bowl and beat in eggs, one at a time.
- Spread on the 2 oblongs and bake about 50 minutes in a 350u0b0 oven.
- While warm, frost puff with Toasted Coconut Icing.
