Baked Beans

  1. Sort and wash beans; place in a large ovenproof Dutch oven. Cover with water to 2 inches above beans and bring to a boil; cook 2 minutes, remove from heat, cover and let stand for 1 hour.
  2. Drain beans and return to pan.
  3. Add 8 cups water and onions; bring to a boil.
  4. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 2 hours or until beans are tender.
  5. Drain bean mixture and return to pan.
  6. Add barbecue sauce and remaining ingredients; stir well.
  7. Cover and bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour.
  8. Yields 16 servings.
