Aunt Lora'S Fruit Cake
- 10 eggs
- 2 c. plain flour
- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 lb. crystallized pineapple
- 1 lb. cherries, halved
- 1 lb. citron, finely cut
- 4 c. chopped nuts
- 1 lb. butter
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. wine
- 1 lb. butter
- 10 eggs
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 c. flour (1 self-rising, 3 plain)
- 1/2 c. syrup
- 3/4 tsp. soda
- 3/4 c. wine
- 2 lb. raisins (1 seeded, 1 seedless; may use only seedless)
- 1 lb. each: pineapple, cherries and citron, finely cut
- 1 qt. nuts, finely cut
- Cream butter and sugar; add eggs one at a time.
- Stir the soda into the syrup and add to the egg mixture.
- Then add the flour and wine alternately.
- Put into 2 large pans which have been lined with wax paper and greased.
