Peanut Blossom Bars
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 butter, softened
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1-3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 40 milk chocolate candy kisses, unwrapped
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, butter and peanut butter; beat until light and fluffy. Add milk, vanilla and egg; blend well.
- Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
- Add flour, baking soda and salt; mix well.
- Press dough in bottom of ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 19 to 24 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Immediately press candy kisses into bars, forming 5 rows of 8 kisses each.
- Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled.
- Cut into bars with 1 kiss in center of each.
- Yield:
- 40 bars.
