Stuffed Green Peppers
- 6 green peppers
- 1/3 c. chopped onions
- 2 cans tomato sauce (8 oz.)
- dash of pepper
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 can tomatoes (1 lb. optional)
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 3/4 c. uncooked rice
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- grated cheese
- Remove tops of peppers; wash, clean and parboil.
- Crumble and brown beef, sauteing onion at the same time.
- Pour off any grease that accumulates, then add rice, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, mustard, water and Worcestershire sauce.
- Stir to blend well. Cover and cook about 20 minutes over low heat.
- Stuff peppers with mixture.
- (Optional: Pour can of tomatoes over top of peppers). Top peppers with grated cheese and bake, uncovered, for 20 to 25 minutes at 350u0b0.
