Fried Wontons
- 1 lb. ground pork
- 1 lb. shrimp
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. dry vermouth
- 8 water chestnuts, sliced
- 6 green onions, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. oyster sauce
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 3/4 c. oil
- 50 wonton wrappers or egg roll wrappers
- Heat wok.
- Add oil and ground pork.
- Cook until meat loses reddish color.
- Add shrimp, soy sauce, wine, salt, sliced water chestnuts and green onions.
- Stir-fry for 1 minute.
- Combine cornstarch and water in separate bowl.
- Drain meat mixture on wax paper.
- Place approximately 1 teaspoon of filling in center of each wrapper.
- Pinch firmly together after putting cornstarch around all edges.
- Heat oil to 375u0b0.
- Deep fry until crisp and golden.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm with sweet and sour sauce and hot mustard.
