Men'S Health Southwest Sloppy Joes

  1. Heat a large saucepan over high heat. Add the oil and swirl to coat. Add the onions, celery, ginger, and jalapenos. Saute until soft, about 2 minutes.
  2. Add the pork and brown lightly.
  3. Add the tomatoes, barbecue sauce (I used Billy Bee), whiskey, soy sauce and lime juice. Bring to a simmer and cook stirring occasionally for 15-20 minutes or until mixture will mound sloppy-joe-style.
  4. Toast the rolls. On the bottom half, place a leaf of lettuce, then scoop on the pork mixture. Top with lettuce, guacamole, and the top half of the roll.
  5. Great with a pint of light beer.

vegetable oil, red onion, celery, ginger puree, jalapeno, ground pork, tomato, barbecue sauce, whiskey, soy sauce, lime juice, sandwich buns, guacamole
