Double Chocolate Pound Cake
- 1 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. flour
- 3/4 c. baking cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- Frosting
- Cream butter, shortening and sugar in large mixer bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt in bowl.
- Add to creamed mixture alternately with mixture of milk and vanilla, beating well after each addition.
- Pour into well-greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
- Bake at 300u0b0 for 1 1/4 hours.
- Cool in pan for several minutes.
- Invert onto serving plate.
- Spread frosting over cake.
- Yield:
- 16 servings.
