Sister Mary Augusta'S Cinnamon Buns

  1. Cream sugar and Spry or Crisco.
  2. Add eggs and mix well.
  3. Add salt, potatoes and potato water.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Add 4 cups of flour and dry yeast; mix well.
  6. Add 4 more cups flour.
  7. Knead.
  8. Add enough flour to stiffen and does not stick (can be a lot of flour) to fingers.
  9. Place in warm place until double in bulk (2 1/2 to 3 hours).
  10. Take portion, roll and spread with butter or oleo; sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  11. Roll as you do a jellyroll. Cut in 1 1/2-inch pieces.
  12. Place in buttered pans that have the following mixture in them.

sugar, eggs, salt, cold mashed potatoes, water, flour, yeast, flour, flour, oleo, brown sugar
