Round Steak Sauerbraten
- 1 1/2 lb. round steak
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 envelope brown gravy mix
- 2 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. instant minced onion
- 2 Tbsp. wine vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 (1 lb.) pkg. wide Mueller 's noodles
- Cut meat in 1-inch squares.
- In large skillet, brown on all sides in hot shortening.
- Remove from skillet.
- Add gravy mix and water.
- Bring to boiling, stirring constantly.
- Stir in remaining ingredients (except noodles).
- Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Remove bay leaf.
- Boil noodles as directed.
- Serve mixture over hot noodles.
