Apple 'N' Honey Scones
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2/3 c. wheat germ
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/3 c. margarine, chilled
- 1 1/4 c. finely chopped apples
- 1 Tbsp. wheat germ
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 c. skim milk
- 1/4 c. honey
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- Heat oven to 400u0b0.
- Lightly spray large cookie sheet or grease lightly.
- Combine first 7 ingredients; cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add apple, milk and honey, mixing until dry ingredients are moistened.
- Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface; knead gently 5 to 6 times.
- Pat dough into a 9-inch circle.
