Beef Casserole Italiano

  1. Brown ground beef and onion; drain off fat.
  2. Stir in the tomato sauce, parsley, oregano, basil, 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, combine spinach, Ricotta cheese and remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  3. Spoon spinach mixture around edges of 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
  4. Pour beef mixture into center.
  5. Cut each Mozzarella slice into 3 strips and arrange in a lattice pattern over meat.
  6. Bake at 375u0b0 for 20 minutes.
  7. Yields 8 servings.
