Wesson Oil Fruit Cake

  1. Sift together first 6 ingredients and set aside.
  2. Combine next 4 ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Add 1 cup of the flour mixture.
  5. Combine Wesson oil and sugar; beat until light.
  6. Add eggs, 1 at a time.
  7. Beat until light and fluffy.
  8. Add dry ingredients alternately with 1 1/2 cups buttermilk.
  9. Beat until smooth.
  10. Add fruit-nut mixture.
  11. Pour into a greased tube pan. Bake at 300u0b0 for 2 hours.
  12. Decorate top of cake with candied fruit. Makes 1 tube cake.
