Szechuan Beef With Broccoli From Best Of Bridge
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons dry sherry
- 1/2 cup oyster sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 tablespoon ginger, slivered
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 1 bunch broccoli, florets
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 stalks celery, cut diagonally into 1/2-inch pieces
- 6 green onions, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
- 2 cups cooked beef, cut into strips
- Dissolve cornstarch in sherry, oyster sauce and water.
- Add pepper flakes.
- In a wok or large skillet heat oil over medium-high heat.
- Add ginger and garlic.
- Stir-fry 1 minute.
- Add broccoli, stir-fry 3 minutes.
- Add red pepper, celery and green onions.
- Stir-fry 3 minutes.
- Add cornstarch mixture and beef.
- Stir-fry 3 minutes.
- Serve with rice.
