Mushrooms Florentine
- 2 pkg. frozen chopped spinach
- 1 lb. fresh mushrooms
- butter
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
- garlic salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- Prepare spinach according to directions on package.
- Drain well.
- Cut stems from mushrooms; saute stems and caps in small amount of butter until browned.
- Melt 1/4 cup butter.
- Line shallow 10-inch casserole dish with spinach.
- Add salt, onion and melted butter.
- Sprinkle with 1/2 cup cheese.
- Arrange mushrooms over cheese.
- Season with garlic salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
- Fold edges of spinach over top.
- (Spinach won't cover whole dish on top.)
- Bake for 20 minutes at 350u0b0 or until cheese is melted and lightly brown.
- Serves 4 to 6.
