Hot Pot Recipe
- 1 1/2 lb. chuck steak, cut into 1-inch cubes and tossed in seasoned flour
- 2 oz. fat or oil
- 2 oz. mushrooms
- 2 medium size onions, sliced
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- salt and pepper
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 2 level Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 pt. beef broth
- Heat oil in skillet and brown meat all over.
- Put in oven-safe pan.
- Brown vegetables in skillet.
- Add to meat along with mushrooms and garlic.
- Sprinkle the flour over any fat or juices in the pan.
- Stir and cook before gradually adding the stock.
- Bring to a boil.
- Season well and pour over meat.
- Cover and cook in oven slowly at 325u0b0 for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
- Thicken gravy, if necessary, before serving.
- Good served over rice or noodles.
