Pepper Steak A La Cheddar Noodles
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 1/2 lb. steak, cut into 2 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/8 strips
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/3 c. chopped onion
- 1 1/2 c. green peppers, cut into narrow strips
- 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 3 c. wide noodles
- 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- Melt butter.
- Add beef and sprinkle with garlic powder.
- Saute until browned.
- Remove meat from skillet.
- Add onion and green pepper; saute 2 minutes.
- Return to skillet with tomatoes and bouillon cube.
- Simmer 30 minutes.
- Blend together cornstarch, water, soy sauce, sugar and salt.
- Add to meat mixture and cook until thickened.
- Reduce heat and cook 2 minutes longer.
- Prepare noodles and toss with grated cheese.
- Serve meat over noodles.
