My Mom'S Meat Loaf
- 2 lbs. ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1/4 C. milk
- 3/4 C. bread crumbs (Garlic and herb work well)
- 3 Tbsp. minced onion
- Salt, pepper and garlic salt to taste
- 3 pkg brown gravy mix
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- Combine first six ingredients.
- Form into a loaf and place in a large baking pan.
- The bottom of an oven broiler works well. Place in an oven at 350 degrees and begin cooking uncovered for 30 minutes. Dissolve the bouillon cube in 1 C. water.
- Drain any grease from pan.
- Pour beef broth over meat loaf and return to oven for another 30 minutes.
- Make up gravy packages according to directions on pack.
- Pour over meat loaf.
- Continue cooking another 30 - 50 minutes until done.
- Internal temperature of 155 degrees.
- Baste with gravy several times while cooking.
