Cherry-Glazed Ham

  1. Place ham on a rack in a shallow baking pan.
  2. Bake, uncovered, in a 325u0b0 F oven about 1-1/2 hours (or until thermometer registers 140u0b0 F).
  3. Meanwhile, in a saucepan combine the cherry preserves, vinegar, corn syrup, and spices.
  4. Cook and stir until boiling.
  5. Reduce heat; simmer two minutes.
  6. Stir in almonds.
  7. Remove from heat.
  8. Set aside 3/4 cup of the glaze.
  9. About 15 minutes before the ham is done, spoon some of the remaining glaze over the ham, basting occasionally.
  10. Remove from oven; place on a heated serving platter.
  11. Stir the water into the reserved 3/4-cup glaze; heat and serve along with the ham.
