Batter Dipped Sandwiches
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil
- 1 c. beer
- 2 (8 oz.) pkg. Swiss cheese
- 2 (4 oz.) pkg. sliced cooked ham
- 4 oz. sliced cooked turkey breast
- 1/4 c. mustard
- 8 slices white bread
- vegetable oil
- In bowl with fork, beat together flour, baking soda, salt, oregano, basil and beer until well blended to make batter.
- Cut cheese, ham and turkey slices in half crosswise.
- Spread mustard evenly on one side of each bread slice.
- Top mustard side of 4 bread slices with cheese, ham and turkey slices, dividing evenly and trimming to fit.
- Place remaining bread slices on top, mustard side down to make 4 sandwiches; press each sandwich gently to seal.
