Chocolate Chip Cake
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1 unbeaten egg
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. water
- 1/3 c. Wesson oil
- 1 Tbsp. white vinegar (not cider)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Beat first 4 ingredients well and stir in chocolate chips; leave in bowl.
- Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt.
- Beat water, oil, vinegar and vanilla.
- Combine with flour mixture.
- Pour into greased and floured square or tube pan.
- Spoon cheese mixture lightly on top, spreading with knife as you go. Bake at 350u0b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.
- Sift confectioners sugar on top of cake.
