German Chocolate Pound Cake
- 1 (4 oz.) bar Baker's German sweet chocolate
- 2 3/4 c. sifted Downs cake flour
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 c. soft butter
- 3/4 c. milk
- 3 eggs
- Melt chocolate over boiling water; cool.
- Sift dry ingredients.
- Stir in butter, dry ingredients, milk and vanilla. Mix to dampen flour.
- Beat 2 minutes with mix.
- Add eggs, yolk and chocolate.
- Beat 1 minute longer.
- Grease and flour tube Bundt pan.
- Pour batter.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
- Cool in pan 15 minutes.
- Remove and cool completely.
- Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting.
