Cinnamon Apple Crisp
- 6 medium apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- 1 c. water
- 1 pkg. Duncan Hines moist deluxe white cake mix
- 1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- frozen whipped topping, thawed (optional)
- ice cream (optional)
- nuts (optional)
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Arrange apple slices in ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
- Pour water over top.
- Combine cake mix, brown sugar, melted butter and cinnamon.
- Stir until thoroughly blended. Mixture will be crumbly.
- Sprinkle crumb mixture over apple slices.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 50 to 55 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbly.
- Serve warm or cooled completely with whipped topping or ice cream, if desired.
