Orange Coconut Pound Cake
- 2 sticks butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
- 1 tsp. orange extract
- 3 c. all-purpose flour (plain)
- 1 c. milk
- 1 can flaked coconut
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Grease and flour 10-inch tube pan. Cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add flavorings and mix well.
- Alternately add flour and milk, beating after each addition.
- Stir in coconut.
- Spoon batter into the 10-inch tube pan.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes, approximately, or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Frost while warm (not hot) with the following frosting.
