Sweet-Sour Beets

  1. Wash
  2. and
  3. trim
  4. beets;
  5. put
  6. in
  7. saucepan
  8. with 1-inch boiling water; add salt to taste.
  9. Bring to a boil;
  10. cover and simmer fort5 to 45 minutes or until beets are tender.
  11. Drain and reserve
  12. 1/2
  13. cupteet liquid; peel and slice beets; set aside. Intaucepan, mix reserved liquid, brown sugar, orange juice, lemon
  14. juice
  15. and cornstarch; bring to a boil, cooking until thickened.tdd
  16. beets and heat, stirring until glazed; keep warm.

  18. a skillet, saute pecans in butter; add beets, salt, pepper and parsley.
