Beef Stroganoff Casserole
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 lb lean steak, cut in thin strips or 1 lb hamburger
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms or 1/2 cup canned mushroom
- 1 (10 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 cup sour cream
- parsley (to garnish)
- paprika (to garnish)
- Saute onion and butter in skillet.
- Add and saute beef until cooked through.
- Add flour, spices, and mushrooms.
- Simmer for 5 min.
- Add soup and water.
- Simmer for 10 min.
- REMOVE FROM HEAT and stir in sour cream.
- Add parsley and extra paprika for garnish.
- Serve over noodles, pasta, rice or serve as a main dish by itself.
