Apple Turnover Pastries

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Roll pie crust into a 10-inch square on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut into sixteen,2 1/2-inch squares.
  4. Combine apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and egg in a large bowl and toss to mix.
  5. Place pastry squares on an ungreased baking sheet.
  6. Spoon 1 tablespoon apple mixture onto each square, dot with 1/4 teaspoon butter.
  7. Fold each pastry over filling to form a triangle:brush pastry with some milk and press to seal.
  8. Bake until golden brown (about 10 minutes).
  9. Makes 16 turnovers.
