Petits Fours(For Receptions And Teas)
- 3/4 c. butter
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1 tsp. lemon extract
- 2 or 3 drops yellow food coloring
- 2 (1 lb.) boxes confectioners sugar
- red cinnamon candies
- green candied cherries, sliced
- Cream butter in mixing bowl.
- Add sugar gradually; beat until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time.
- Stir in vanilla. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
- Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk.
- Spread evenly in buttered and floured 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.
- Bake in preheated 350u0b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until done; cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes.
- Remove from pan; finish cooling on wire rack. Cover with towel.
- Cut into diamond shapes when ready to frost.
