Tahoe Brunch

  1. Butter the bread with 1/2 cup butter.
  2. Brown mushrooms and onion until tender in 3 tablespoons butter.
  3. Brown sausage and drain.
  4. Grease a 9 x 13-inch casserole. Layer 6 slices of bread, 1/2 mushroom mixture, 1/2 sausage and 1/2 cheese.
  5. Repeat layers. In a mixing bowl beat together eggs, milk, mustards, nutmeg and pepper.
  6. Pour over casserole.
  7. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Sprinkle parsley on top.
  8. Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour.
  9. (Can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance.)
