Venison Steak
- 2 1/2 lb. venison steak
- 1 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder or salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. catsup
- 1/2 tsp. hickory salt (optional)
- 3 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 c. water
- Soak venison in salt and vinegar water for several hours or overnight before cooking.
- Rinse with cold water.
- Mix flour, salt, garlic powder, hickory salt and pepper.
- Dredge venison in seasoned flour.
- Brown in small amount of fat in skillet over high heat.
- Place in casserole.
- Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan; cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour over venison and cover.
- Bake at 300u0b0 for 2 1/2 hours, adding water as needed.
